SASSA is going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is actually alarmed about the large number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance issue created for intervention experiences a high influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who website visit a service point.

“In here this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all buyers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
